1040-DR (Web-based Version) | Printing Checks

  1. Log into the software

  2. Click Tools > Print Checks

  3. Log in with username (EFIN) and Password

  4. It is suggested to do a test print to ensure paper is loaded properly before printing real checks

    1. Make a photocopy of one of the checks you were sent by the bank; this is going to be used to test the orientation of the paper being loaded into the printer

    2. Load the photocopy of the check into the printer and take note of the orientation; is it face up? / face down?, etc…

    3. Once the photocopy of the check has been loaded and the orientation noted, Click Print

    4. Review the test check once printed.  Did it print as a real check should have?  Is it the right way up on the right side of the paper?  If so, proceed to printing a live check.
If not, make another photocopy of the check paper and reload into the printer another way until it comes out right.

  5. Any available checks to print will show in a list. There is an empty field at the end of each taxpayer name for a check number.

    1.  Remove a check from the package and enter the check number into the empty box under "Check Number" field. This number is typically red and found in the top right hand corner of the check paper.

    2. Click the printer icon to the right to print the check

    3. A PDF version of the check will generate and will either automatically open on your screen, or will download to the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, depending on your computer set up.

    4. Open the PDF version of the check, and print it by pressing CTRL+P to choose the printing settings.
