1040-SR (Desktop) | How to Compare Prior Year Data to Current Year Data

If you used TaxSlayer in the previous year to prepare a tax return, a prior year conparison is automatically prepared. To see how current year's return compares with prior year return, follow the steps below:

1. From the tax return’s Main Menu, select View Results

   Open

   

2. Select Prior Year Comparison

Open

3. This is how the compairon will show

If you don’t have prior year returns on your computer, or if you haven’t prepared a tax return for the last client for a prior year, but you have the information, you can fill everything manually by following the steps below:

• From the tax return’s Main Menu, go to Miscellaneous Forms

• Choose Enter Prior Year(s) Data for Comparison

• Choose which prior year

• Enter the information manually, then repeat to the same comparison process above
