1040-DR (Desktop Version) Uneditable Returns, Missing Information after Retrieving Returns - Index Files Repair

The Repair Index Files tool in Drake is very helpful when it comes to solving the issue of some returns which become uneditable or missing some entries in general or after recovering/retrieving certain returns.

  • To use the tool, go to Tools > Repair Index Files

  • Leave Repair All selected, then click Continue

Repaire Index Files - Include prior year and test/sample returns is selected by default. You can proceed and click OK or uncheck one of the two options, depending on the situation. Then click OK.

 

In the results window, you'll see Repair Complete and how many records were affected.
